The staff of ToG are happy to announce a monthly announcement which will feature some of the varied activities that are running on the forum and also various other events that may have cropped up. As this is a first its going to be slightly experimental so please suggest anything you'd like to see changed or added.
Lets begin with the first announcement:
Staff reshuffle
Contrary to what was reported earlier in a previous update there are going to be some slight changes in the existing Staff Team. For a while now I have been slightly annoyed over some of the staff's activity to the forum, especially those with higher ranks and not doing anything AT all (YK) so with talks from the staff who are active we have worked out a new arrangement. We are deeply sad to announce that YK and SuperBASHBro who have been with the staff team for a very long time, almost since the beginning, and while in the past they had contributed immensely to the forum we feel overall that of late there just hasn't been as much commitment to the forum and we are sadly demoting them both to that of a normal member. Its not fair to active members who could easily make staff and sets a bad example. Another change is that Lady GS has been demoted down to Moderator, simply because there have been some problems related to her personal life (which aren't going to be divulged here) we think given the chance she can easily cope and prove herself.
One last change concerning the Staff Team is... The promotion of one Moderator who since being promoted to the staff ranks, has tirelessly helped the forum through ideas in the Staff board, to activity and being the perfect role model of what a staff member should be. I would like you all to congratulate UNLEASHED MADNESS on being promoted to Super Moderator! You have undoubtedly proven yourself worthy!
Dear Diary - New Sub-board!!
Thats right, another new addition to the forum is the appearance of a new sub-board in The Lounge under the name of Dear Diary. The idea was penned by Unleashed Madness and is basically a place where you can post in your own topic about your day in the same manner you would a diary. However, you must first purchase your own journal from The Shop. The new board can be viewed: here.
Return of the Clans Colosseum!!
Okay... Admittedly this is seeming rather tiresome by now with all the openings and closings of this board but this time round we are GOING to keep this going - activity wise and consistency wise. Last time it was opened YK was never around to fully lead his clan which caused the whole system to fail... A bold change has been made this time round however. Instead of having 4 clans like the previous times we have decided to downgrade to 3 clans! These being the Schwarzwind Riders, The Outcast's Guild's Angels and People of the Dragon.
We have one event lined up to be released soon but first we'd like to get everyone settled in with a clan! We have decided to keep the registrations from last time so if you were already in a clan don't worry as you will still be in it, password is also the same for that matter. For those of you who are a bit confused over this clans business it would be advisable to check out the pinned topics in this: link.
Guild Holidays!
A complete list of all the upcoming Guild Holidays which have been planned have been added to the Rules and Forum Info thread. So far there is quite a list so if you're pondering what Holiday may be coming up next that is your best bet to check. A direct link to the Holidays can be viewed: here .
However, February's Guild Holiday is based around Valentine's Day. The main idea is the same as in you have to find a partner and later on a poll will be made and the best couple voted for. The couple will receive a small prize for winning. Another aspect of this holiday is the Valentine's Ball which will be hosted here on the forum! Find yourself a date before hand and come and join other attendees. The basic concept will be explained further in the February Guild Holiday topic soon.
Member of the Month
For February's MotM we have a surprising winner... They have only been here for just under a month and since there stay here have managed to amass a huge post count and also contribute greatly to the forum with activity, reviews and also getting on well with the other members! It was a hard choice but i'm pleased to announce... LOUCIFER has won this month's MotM! Many congratulations! More information can be found on the following link: here.
Dish of the Month
For February's DOTM we tried to loosely base it on Valentine's Day which is coming up and decided to have trifle. We have 4 different options ranging from strawberry to fruit cocktail so check out the latest poll and vote for your favourite: here. Last month's DOTM was based on roast dinners and the overall winner was Turkey, so we have a recipe if anyone would like to try it out: here. A big thanks to everyone who voted last time.
Comic Book Tournament - ROUND 4!
Although last month's CBT was extended by another month Wolverine just managed to win the majority of Sabretooth so he progresses onwards. The next round we have we are pleased to announce... In the left corner... Weighing in at an almighty one thousand and 24 pounds and wearing those dashing ruined jeans... THE HULK! In the right corner weighing in at a hefty nine hundred pounds... We have the... JUGGERNAUT! Definitely a clash of the titans. To vote in the battle go to the following link.
February Poetry Contest
The Monthly Poetry Contest is open once again. The contest, run by ToG Co-Admin Rand al'Thor, began late last year and is going into its fourth round. The theme for Round Four is the following:
Write a poem in which you depict your hometown, and make clear the qualities that make where you grew up unique.
Have fun coming up with your poems, and submit your original poems by February 25th. A winner will be announced in the March Update.
Congratulations to ScarletIce for winning the last round of the Poetry Contest.
A STEP OUT OF PHASE!!
Article by: Rand al'Thor:
A Step Out of Phase is set to make a return to The Outcasts Guild in the month of February, in the year 2007. The webcomic, created by yours truly, has been on hiatus for a few months. The new run of the series will begin with a cameo appearance of a character from a webcomic run by a fellow member of ToG, and return to the storyline in play prior to the hiatus. Crash Man, Metal Man, Flash Man, Bubble Man and Heat Man are set to take the stage once more. Stay tuned for more details.
We all hope you thoroughly enjoyed this extensive update! Definitely a time of happening for the forum. So have fun, immerse yourself in some if not all events and enjoy the forum! See you all for the next update. Same time, same place. Stay tuned with this update though... We still have some big plans still to reveal. It may be a couple of hours from now or maybe even a couple of days...
Thanks for reading, The Outcast's Guild Staff Team.

Okay this is quite weird, it seems ProBoards have updated the servers with a chat based room for the forum. I've just enabled it and had a quick look and I am not sure about it. What do other people think? Its fully customizable with colours and such but I am not sure if its worthwhile having here.
I don't know... It just seems quite... Tacky really. I mean it could distract from people posting in the boards and its not like thats the only place we can talk is on the chat thing, we can chat through PMs and Posts and hell outside of the place as well. So what are people's views? I'm not for it I don't think.

It's not working, for me.
But I do have a great idea for the chat. TO THE STAFF BOARD!

It would be cool for events. Like pre-organized debates and such, but not all the time.

I don't like chat rooms, so I doubt I'll use it.

I'll probably forget about it. And the fact that there's a half inch gap between it and the sign out button, putting the right side of the chat button off into the background... kinda bothers me...
